5th May 2006: Sony Scorpion SmartCam and desktop robot on display at Nepcon 2006.

DISL will be demonstrating the new Sony Scorpion Smartcam at Nepcon 2006 next week. The SmartCam will be fully integrated with a Sony desktop robot, which will be running a PCB component inspection program. This innovative solution is just one configuration of many possibilities. Completely standalone without the need for a PC, this system demonstrates the compact, yet powerful Sony Scorpion technology that is now available.

6th February 2006: Sony Scorpion Desktop on Display at Southern Manufacturing 2006

A visit to stand P29 at Southern Manufacturing this week is highly recommended to those companies who have a requirement to inspect and measure small components in manufacture. The desktop robot, with it's small footprint is an ideal solution for electronics and instrumentation manufacturers who have labour intensive inspection tasks in their quality control process. The desktop robot uses high performance Sony cameras interfaced to Scorpion Vision Software. The result is a very powerful and extremely flexible programmable robot. The benefit from deploying this kind of technology can be measured in terms of dramatically reduced failures and a higher throughput due to the reduction on the reliance of humans to carry out phsyical inspection.
